PURPOSE:To maintain an excellent sealing capacity for years by promoting a reduction in the sliding heating value of a lip member and prevention against any crack and abnormal wear thereby. CONSTITUTION:This lip type seal is provided with an elastomer lip member 10 having a bore cylindrical part 102 extending the side of a sealing space A, a reinforcing ring 103 being stuck to or installed in this bore cylindrical part 102 and holding this cylindrical part 102 in a position floated from the outer circumferential surface of a turning shaft 8, a flexible part 104 formed in a tip inner circumference of the cylindrical part 102 and a cylindrical elastomer sliding film 105 extending from this flexible part, and where a bore sliding surface 105S comes into slidingly contact with the outer circumferential surface of the turning shaft 8. Likewise, an outer circumferential surface of this elastomer sliding film 105 is made to exist in a bore side rather than an inner circumferential surface of the bore cylindrical part 102. |
