The invention concerns a method for the realization of the signal processing branches L4, L5, L6 which process an HD-MAC decoder's subsample pattern to create a high resolution picture and a circuit device according to the method. In the device at least two identical circuits LUM2 are used, each of which comprises an interpolator L4, L5 of the first and the third signal processing branches and an interpolator L6' of the single sub-branch of the second signal processing branch L6. The circuits are connected together in such a way that the subsample patterns 16, 17 of the first and the third signal processing branches L4, L5 and the subsample pattern 15 of the single sub-branch L6' of the second signal processing branch L6 are collected by the first circuit LUM2b, and the subsample pattern 14 of the second sub-branch L6' of the second signal processing branch L6 and the outputs 18, 19 of the first circuit LUM2b are collected by the second circuit LUM2a, and the high resolution picture is obtained from the outputs 20, 21 of the second circuit LUM2a. <IMAGE>
