A silver halide color photographic material is disclosed comprising a support comprising a base material and a water resistant resin layer containing titanium dioxide particles in an amount of at least 14% by weight of the water resistant resin layer, said support having thereon at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on the same side of the support as the water resistant resin layer, said photographic material having an optical reflection density of at least 0.70 at 680 nm, said photographic material containing at least one compound represented by formula (I) or (II) and at least one compound represented by formula (III), the total layer thickness of the constituent photographic layers provided on the support after immersing in a color developing solution for at least 60 seconds is at least 1.4 times that of the dry thickness before processing, and the total silver coverage of all of the silver halide emulsions contained in the silver halide color photographic material is not more than 0.78 g/m2 in terms of the coating weight of silver: (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) (I)
