PURPOSE:To provide the livestock mammary inflammation-preventing agent not irritative to the mamilla of livestock and capable of preventing the infection of pathogenic bacteria for a long time. CONSTITUTION:This mammary inflammation-preventing agent is characterized by containing benzalkonium chloride and chitosan and/or a chitosan derivative. The agent has no irritation to the mamilla of livestock, forms stable medicinal coating films on the mamilla, inhibits the multiplication of pathogenic bacteria in the mamilla, and therefore effectively stops the invasion of the pathogenic bacteria into the mamilla. |
