PURPOSE:To automatically judge the appropriateness of the position of a prepared hole to be bored outside of the border line of a machined hole. CONSTITUTION:A lower hole position judging device is provided with an input means 12, a storage means 24 and a control means 30. The input means 12 inputs basic data such as the size and shape of a workpiece, and the size and shape of a machined hole to be bored in the workpiece as well as the position of the machined hole on the workpiece. The storage means 24 is stored with the basic data and converted data which is the data of the size, shape and position on the workpiece in the case of converting the machined hole into simple shape such as a quadrangle on an imaginary plane after forming the imaginary plane corresponding to the workpiece logically on the basis of the basic data. The control means 30 generates the converted data on the imaginary plane on the basis of the basic data. In addition, the control means 30 selects a specific machined hole to be bored by wire electric discharge machining and to be provided with a prepared hole to be bored outside of a machining area so as to insert a wire, determines the proposed position of the prepared hole in relation to the specific machined hole, refers to the converted data, and judges the proposed position to be appropriate in the case of being spaced by the specified distance from the other machined hole. |
