PURPOSE:To provide the highly elastic web having a peach skin-like touch. CONSTITUTION:Non-elastic yarns composed of split type polyethylene terephthalate fibers in which ultrafine fibers each having a fineness of <0.3 denier and a boiling water shrinkage factor of <=15% are joined are prepared. Elastic yarns composed of polyetherester elastic fibers having a larger hot water shrinkage factor than that of the ultrafine fibers are prepared. Both the kinds of the yarns are combined with each other in an arbitrary form to produce woven or knitted fabric. The woven or knitted fabric is subjected to a splitting treatment for splitting the split type polyethylene terephthalate fibers to produce the bundles of the ultrafine fibers. Subsequently, the woven or knitted fabric is thermally treated for shrinking. Since the shrinkage factor of the ultrafine fiber is smaller than that of the polyetherester elastic fibers, a fiber-raised state are generated on the surfaces of the woven or knitted fabric. Consequently, the obtained web exhibits high elasticity because it contains elastic fibers. Since the ultrafine fibers exist in the raised state on the surface of the woven or knitted fabric, the fabric exhibits the peach skin-like touch. |
