<p>PURPOSE:To provide the encoder equipped with high resolution. CONSTITUTION:A rotary panel of the encoder is provided with slits 4 so as to draw three circles. The slits 4 on respective circumferences are shifted just for theta/3. The slit 4 in correspondent position relation and light receiving elements 12a, 12b and 12c are irradiated with light from three light emitting elements 10a, 10b and 10c of a photointerrupter 8. The pulse waves of different phases are outputted from the three light receiving elements 12a, 12b and 12c. When a synthetic pulse wave is provided by synthesizing these pulse waves, pulse intervals are turned to 1/3, and the resolution of the encoder is improved. Further, since it is not necessary to shorten the slit intervals on the respective circumferences, the responsiveness of the light receiving elements is not damaged.</p> |
