PURPOSE:To improve the operating efficiency and reduce the manufacturing cost, by forming a structure capable of easily extracting information of rotational speed of a rotor of an ultrasonic motor detected with an encoder to the outside of the ultrasonic motor. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor comprises a rotor 12 in which a first piezoelectric element 16 vibrating in the circumferential direction of a stator 41 and a second piezoelectric element 20 vibrating in the axial direction of the stator 41 are incorporated into the stator 41 having a cylindrical shape and which is rotatably pivoted to a center bolt axially extending through the stator 41 and is pressed on the top surface of the stator 41. The ultrasonic motor further comprises a mounting member for mounting the ultrasonic motor, a rotating member engaging with the rotor 12, an encoder 56 for detecting a rotational speed of the rotating member installed ahead of the ultrasonic motor, and a lead wire 66 connected to the encoder 56 and inserted into a hole axially extending through the center bolt. |
