PURPOSE: To provide a porous electrode suitable to be employed for a membrane electrode aggregate for a solid polymeric fuel cell, which exhibits a large effective catalytic area and a power density output in the case that the membrane electrode aggregate is formed. CONSTITUTION: A porous electrode includes a noble metal catalyst dispersed on a granular carbon in which a proton conductive polymer is impregnated. Further, the electrode includes another component containing a hydrophobic polymer and the granular carbon. Furthermore, a quantity of the noble metal is 0.01 to 1.0mg per geometrical electrode area expressed in cm<2> . |
