PURPOSE: To provide a method for treating soil contaminated with one or more types of actinide, its radioactive decay product, nuclear fission product, other heavy metal or its compound or doubted to be contaminated. CONSTITUTION: The method for improving land comprises the step of bringing liquid medium containing component naturally decomposable with non-toxic product in the presence or absence of mild physical auxiliary means like heat or ultraviolet ray without including heavy metal ion before the use into contact with soil. The water solution contains carbonate water, conditioning agent and complex forming agent containing anion of 2-6C carboxylic acid. The method further comprises the steps of collecting the soil from contaminated site, transporting the coil to a treating site, cleaning the soil with the medium, and dissolving contaminant substance in the medium as complex. |
