PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body which can detect the density of toner patches (or electrostatic latent images) with high accuracy (detect the surface potentials) and to provide the electrophotographic method which executes exact process control by using this photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is constituted by forming an optically detectable mark 20 on an aluminum blank material 1a and laminating a photoconductive layer 1b thereon. This mark 20 is formed in an image area or is formed in a non-image area. The synchronizing signal for rotation of the photosensitive body is obtd. by using this electrophotographic sensitive body and detecting the mark 20 with an optical sensor 10a during the rotation of the photosensitive body and further, the toner patches 21a, 21b (or electrostatic latent images) in the prescribed region on the photosensitive body on the basis of the electrostatic latent image; thereafter, the densities of the toner patch 21 and the non-image part (the surface potentials of the electrostatic latent images and the non-latent image parts) are detected. Electrophotographic process parameters, such as development bias, are corrected in accordance with the ratio between both. Processing, such as alarm display, nulling of process control and prohibition of a copying operation, is executed in the case of a failure in detecting the mark. |
