ATM SWITCH

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve cell discarding rate characteristics without substantially increasing buffer capacity inside a cross point buffer type switch. CONSTITUTION:This switch is provided with input buffers 12(1)-12(n) arranged in the preceeding stage of the respective input ports of the cross point buffer type switch 11, a monitoring part 13 for monitoring the utilizing rate of respective cross point buffers inside the cross point buffer type switch 11 and a switch read control part 14 for controlling the read/read stoppage of the respective buffers 12 based on the monitored result of the monitoring part 13. The switch read control part 14 passes cells inputted to the respective input buffers 12 through at the normal time and when it is detected that the utilizing rate of the cross point buffer inside the cross point buffer type switch 11 is turned higher, stops the read of the input buffer of the input port corresponding to the cross point buffer.
