The hair clip has a curved oblong body (1) and a curved locking branch (4). One end of this passes through a hole (6) in the end of the body and is held by a wider part (11). It is moved to open the clip and to move the branch laterally. The free end of the locking branch (7) engages in a transversal slot (8) in the other end of the body. In its locked position it is held in a recess (10) in the slot. The body and the locking branch are both made in plastics material. ADVANTAGE - Prevents damage to hair when the clip is put in place.
