Equipment to form 'Z' folds in band material - uses pairs of upper and lower rotating rollers with variant speeds and synchronised motion to transport finished fold

The equipment has a pair of rollers (15,16) or conveyor belts which transport the band material (1) at a constant speed. Arranged after these are further pairs of rollers (22,23) or twin conveyors. The first (22) rotates at a speed which is much lower than the second (23). Upper rollers (24,25) can be lifted and lowered at the frequency at which folds are made in the band to form a loop. The second pair of rollers make contact with the band but do not act to move it until after the formation of the loop when one of the upper rollers (25) of the first pair (22) is lifted above the other (22''). USE/ADVANTAGE - To form 'Z'-shaped folds for items such as container package handles. Has reduced cost of construction.
