<p>PURPOSE: To provide controlled expansion by converting a bit map picture which is generated at first resolution and which is optimized against a specified printer technology into second resolution against printer having a different characteristic. CONSTITUTION: The binary state decision rule of the enlargement of 2×4W can be enlarged to a larger degree. When a corrected central picture element is white, it is requested that the control areas of four adjacent picture elements containing the central picture element and the black enlarged picture elements Z1 , Z2 , Z3 and Z4 are white in the rule. To obtain the black enlarged picture element from the white master picture element effectively smoothes edges. When two or more than two black areas are approximated, the control area of the white picture element is requested. Thus, a condition required for expansion is controlled and therefore the description of the thin white area is effectively improved. Thus, the area where the black or white picture element can be identified is effectively expressed in the enlarged picture.</p> |
