PURPOSE:To obtain an electrochemical gas sensor, which reports the sensitivity for gas to be detected by detecting the dehydrated state of a solid electrolyte film. CONSTITUTION:An electrode group 5 includes an insulating substrate 1 and a working electrode 2 and a counter electrode 3, which are provided on the insulating substrate 1. A solid electrolyte film 6 covers the series of the electrode group 5; When water is infiltrated, the film 6 becomes the electrolyte. A detecting element 7 comprising the electrode group 5 and the solid electrolyte film 6 detects gas to be detected. An output circuit 10 of the detecting element 7, a humidity detecting element 8 provided on the insulating substrate 1 and an output circuit 9 of the humidity detecting element 8 are further provided.
