The battery has a system housed in a reservoir for forming and circulating electrolyte between the reservoir and an electrochemical cell. The system comprises a pump, a heat exchanger and a thermostatic valve which controls the temperature of the electrolyte entering the cell. A gas separator at the cell outlet separates hydrogen produced during the discharge reaction and has liquid and gas outlets. The system admits sea water through an inlet into the reservoir and expels the hydrogen through an outlet with the inlet and outlet formed facing and coaxial with each other in the top and bottom of a lateral wall of the torpedo. A valve selects the operating mode and comprises a hollow body with conduits, with interconnected closure members, to a central chamber connected to the liquid outlet of the separator, the pump intake and the separator gas outlet. |
