PURPOSE:To suppress power consumption, ordinarily give no flicker feeling to a driver, and easily recognize an obstruction when it is present. CONSTITUTION:A road controller 13 to which an obstruction sensor 20 is connected receives the position and speed information transmitted from a vehicle, calculates a necessary lighting section every hour, and gives the instruction of successively lighting unlighted road floodlights 15 situated in this section to a road lighting control device 17. When an obstruction is present within the lighting range of the road floodlight to be lighted, this road floodlight is momentarily lighted, and when no obstruction is present, it is lighted with a time constant of several seconds. Thus, no flicker feeling is generally given to a driver, and when the obstruction is present the luminance change of the lighted obstruction is increased so that it can be surly and easily recognized. |
