<p>PURPOSE: To improve picture quality with inexpensive constitution by picture- processing electronic picture data generated in a high resolution picture scanning means, generating a picture output signal through the use of a histogram circuit, interpreting the signal and adjusting a system. CONSTITUTION: A document picture 12 in a micro film is projected on the projection optical system of a scanner 14 and a detector 16 with the light of a lamp 20. An A/D converter and a related electronic machine 18 generate electronic picture data. The picture data is processed by a digital picture proeessing/ gradation correction means 22 through a window means 32 and the output picture is outputted to a printer and the output device of CRT. The histogram circuit 26 of the means 22 selects useful and important information from a look up table 30 by using a statistical value calculated based on histogram obtained from a picture element value. Various processings are executed with the estimation device 28 of document exposure and contrast and a table 30. Thus, picture quality can be improved with inexpensive constitution.</p> |
