PURPOSE:To prevent an unexpected picture including the image of an obstacle from being taken even when the obstacle intervenes between a camera and an object at the time of actuating a shutter. CONSTITUTION:In the case of performing self-timer photographing by an autofocusing camera, AF range-finding and calculation is performed before starting the actuation of a self-timer(step 21), a focusing state is obtained by driving a lens based on the calculation(step 22), the AF range-finding is performed again after finishing the actuation of the timer(step 28), a focusing difference from a focusing position is obtained and whether or not the obtained difference is larger than a specified value X is judged(step 29). In the case of focusing difference <= X, the shutter is actuated to perform photographing(step 32). In the case of focusing difference>X, it is judged that a state is not suitable for photographing, for instance the obstacle intervenes between the camera and the object, and a warning concerning the state is given(step 30), then release operation is stopped (step 31). |
