The plate is stackable or nests together with others, having a pattern of humps and recesses in parallel rows. The pattern of recesses (1) and humps (2) is such that the intersection lines are always in the same position in relation to a pair of intersecting side edges (S1,S2). Thus by turning the plate through 180 deg., it can be stacked on top of one below. In relation to a first pair of side edges, the intersection line can run along the middle of a row of humps (A), while in relation to a second pair it can run along the middle of a row of recesses (B).
