PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of a piezoelectric actuator system by electric discharging an actuator to directly transfer a capacitive energy to other actuator. CONSTITUTION: A switch SW1 is turned to position 1 to transfer an energy from an energy source 1 to an actuator 5 through an inductor 4 and alternated from position 1 to position 3 to control the current intensity and resulting charging ratio. A mean applied voltage and mean contact determine the charging rate and it is possible that when desired charging voltage is reached, the switch SW1 is turned to position 2 to hold the charge. To remove this charge, the switch SW1 is turned to position 4 to return the stored energy to a feed source, thus recovering the energy. A system composed of an energy source, switch element and transfer inductor can attain an efficiency of 0.9-0.95 if carefully designed. |
