The control unit has actuators with extensions (4) having a concave face (23). The light entry surfaces on which light from a central light source enter light rods (2) have the form of a convex lens. Guiding surfaces for the convex lens prevent the exit of light beams from the light conducting body. The light rods have total reflection surfaces (19,20,21,22) on the boundary faces averted from the extensions. The size, inclination and shape of the total reflection surfaces is chosen so that the same amount of light is conducted into each extension. ADVANTAGE - Uses simple production technology to achieve even illumination of individual display windows.
