The hinge has two links spaced apart and attached between the bonnet and the bodywork. The link towards the free end of the bonnet is in two parts, forming a toggle linkage, whose joint is pulled on opening by a tension spring against the other link. The bonnet swings upwards and in the direction of its free end, its movement being limited by a stop and regulated by a control lever (15). The latter is attached at one end to the hinge side (1) of the bonnet (2), and contains an elongated hole for a pivot bolt (17) fixed to the bodywork. During opening, its free end (23) swings into a guide (19) fixed to the bodywork, and then slides in it. The guide can incorporate locking devices (25) supporting the lever in several different open positions, and in both directions.
