摘要 A dry process for the removal of dust from incinerator smoke or smelting plant uses a number of filters which may burn or be damaged by high temperatures. The novelty is that (a) large glowing solid particles are first removed from the flow of raw gases by a coarse separator; (b) one or more additives are introduced to the raw gases and reduce the combustion propensity of the remaining dust particles; (c) a spark recognition system automatically registers the presence of sparks and triggers fire extinguishers upstream of the filter; (d) a further spark recognition system is positioned in the filtered gas flow downstream from the filter; (e) the spark recognition system triggers action to recognise, localise, limit and extinguish fires within the relevant filter housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is one of dry removal of combustible particles from incinerator or smelting plant smoke effluent. The process sharply reduces the incidence of damage and disruption due to filter fires and extinguishes fires as these occur.
