PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of component parts and to improve the working efficiency by mounting a LED on the lead frame, by surrounding it with a cap-shaped case of light-reflecting resin and by sealing the LED with transparent resin. CONSTITUTION:After the LED10 is mounted on the lead frame 11 and is given a connection, it is molded with epoxy resin to form the cap-shaped case 12, the frame to which the LED is attached is located in the bottom of case. The inside 13 of case is shaped so that emitted light is efficiently reflected from its face. Next the internal space of the case is filled with clear acrylic resin 14, the upper end of the case is made a flat surface. The legs are cut and the process is completed. In this way, the number of component parts can be made fewer, and the number of assembling processes can be reduced since the molding method is employed. |
