A tongue and groove construction panel comprises a tongue 12 which has a small chamfered tip 16, a neck 20 having parallel sides 22, and a shoulder portion 24 having chamfered sides 25 that merge with the panel 27. The groove 14 comprises a correspondingly shaped cavity 32, 35, 37 formed on a second panel 29. The chamfered surfaces 17, 25 of the tongue 12 are disposed at a more acute angle than the chamfered surfaces 33, 38 of the groove 14 to leave spaces 42, 44 therebetween in an assembled joint, to accommodate excess glue, and panel expansion. <IMAGE> |
