The oven comprises a key inputting device (1), a display section (3), a relay driver (4), an alarm signal generator (5), a temperature probe insertion detector (6), and a microcomputer (2). After the start key signal is inputted, a Micom (2) checks whether the oven operates in the temperature probe function or the heater driven cooking function, also checks whether the temperature probe is inserted or not. According to these results, the oven performs the normal cooking, or disables the output controller and generates an alarm signal.
