PURPOSE:To advantageously produce eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) useful as a medicine, an agricultural chemical, a food, a feed, etc., by obtaining a gene capable of coding a biosynthetic enzyme group of the EPA according to a gene recombination technique. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for producing eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) comprises obtaining a gene capable of coding a biosynthetic enzyme group of the EPA, connecting the resultant gene to a vector, preparing a plasmid, transforming Escherichia coil with the resultant plasmid and culturing the transformed Escherichia coil. |
