PURPOSE:To obtain a means for inhibiting a fluctuation of a gap between a sensor and recording paper and reducing an effect of an extraneous light on the sensor in an image recorder provided with a means for reading recording image information, such as printing, by using a reflection-type sensor on recording paper for detecting a residual amount of a recording medium, such as ink, without making the device large or increasing a cost. CONSTITUTION:In the vicinity of a reflection-type sensor 40 and out of a recording area on recording paper S, a guide member is provided so as to protrude from the sensor 40 toward the recording paper S. The sensor 40 and the guide member are disposed outside a paper discharge roller 23 outward of a device and so mounted as to incline to the device inward. |
