PURPOSE: To produce a pharmaceutical composition which contains a matrix that consists essentially of polydextrose and is obtained by melting a pharmaceutical agent (s) such as antitussive agent, antihistamine agent, hyperemia-lenitive agent or alkaloid together with the polydextrose, and has improved dispersibility in a liquid. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains a matrix which consists essentially of polydextrose and is obtained by subjecting a pharmaceutical agent (s) (such as laxative agent, vitamin agent, antacid agent, ion exchange resin, anti-cholesteremia agent or antifat agent), together with the polydextrose to melt spinning. Preferably, an oily substance such as vegetable oil, corn oil or sunflower oil, is further added to this matrix. Also, optionally, a surfactant, dispersion adjuvant, adhesion promoter, flavoring agent, sweetener, dye or preservative can further be added to the matrix. Optionally, in place of the pharmaceutical agent (s), a cosmetic base material (s) such as aloe, lanolin, anti-sunburn material, hair-conditioning material, or the like can be used. For example, such a cosmetic base material is subjected together with the polydextrose to melt spinning to form long silky chips, and then, the chips are placed in hot water to obtain a thick colloidal liquid dispersion. The resulting dispersion is used as a cosmetic material. |
