<p>PURPOSE: To provide a fuel delivery system for an internal combustion engine, wherein a motor of a fuel pump can rapidly response to fuel demand from a low level to a high level. CONSTITUTION: A check valve 42 and a pressure sensor 46 are positioned in a fuel line 32, 16 that connects a pump outlet to an injector, and a bypass 64 comprising a hole with a small diameter is formed in a part of a pipe. A pressure in the fuel line 32, 16 is measured with the pressure sensor 46, and an electric signal corresponding thereto is transferred to a fuel pump, thus the pump is operated. Due to the existence of the bypass 64, the fuel keeps on flowing through the bypass even when the fuel is not demanded by an engine, so that the pump continuously operate at a low lever. When increase of demand for the fuel to the engine is required, the pump which keeps on rotating at a low level can smoothly transit to a high speed, thus attaining a rapid response.</p> |
