<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate the storage and transportation of perishable goods by including an adsorption means for selectively adsorbing the water vapor, carbon dioxide, oxygen and ethylene contg. to an atmosphere in a prescribed order and a means for sending the atmosphere to the adsorption means and a means for returning the controlled atmosphere to a container. CONSTITUTION: The perishable goods are stored in the container 2 of the gaseous atmosphere having the majority of nitrogen or argon. A part of the atmosphere of the container 2 is taken out of an outlet 6 through a line 8 and is mixed with the air from a line 9. The pressure escaping through a pressure swing adsorption system 14 is increased by a compressor 10. Feed flow is adsorbed its water vapor in a first bed 18 of the column 16 of the pressure swing adsorption system 14, its oxygen and carbon dioxide by the oxygen removing material of a second bed 20 and its the ethylene by the ethylene adsorbent of a third bed 22. The gaseous stream refined by the adsorption is sent by a line 24 into the container 2. The impurities deposited in the beds 18, 20, 22 are removed and the gaseous stream of atmospheric pressure or a reduced pressure is regenerated. The feed flow is stopped by a stop valve 30 and the regenerated gas is supplied to the column 16 at the time of regeneration.</p> |
