PURPOSE:To suppress separation of the material, to improve preservability, to simplify the process and to save the manpower by adding a specified amt. of phosphate glass, etc., as a binder, and a tackifier to a refractory aggregate powder having controlled grain size and then kneading with water or the like. CONSTITUTION:Phosphate glass and/or oxycarboxylate in total 0.05-5wt.%, and 0.01-1wt.% tackifier such as methylcellulose are mixed with 100wt.% refractory aggregate powder having a controlled grain size such as sintered alumina of about 0.3mm grain size. The phosphate glass essentially consists of P2O5-Al2 O3-Na2O-K2O whose contents are 45-68wt.% P2O5, 5-18wt.% Al2O3, and 19-28wt.% Na2O+K2O, respectively. The oxycarboxylate is a salt of metal such as Li, Na, K and Al with glycol acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid, or citric acid. If necessary, a cellulose org. compd. or isobutylene-maleic acid anhydride copolymer compd. is used as the tackifier. Then the mixture is kneaded with water or a specified kneading liquid to produce the monolithic refractory material. |
