In a tractor seat, in which links 36 and 38 can be tilted rearwardly to carry the seat into and out of use position, vertical springing is provided by a compression spring unit 34 acting on a cross-bar 52 of rear links 38. Catch 74 retains the seat in the position of use and, on being pivoted upwardly, to release projection 68, allows the seat to be lifted upwardly and rearwardly, about pivots 40 and 42. This movement relieves the bar 52 of the pressure of the coil spring in unit 34, which is transmitted through links 50. Continued rearward rotation of the links 36, 38 removes links 50 from contact with bar 52 (Fig. 3, not shown). The resilience of the mounting may be varied by altering the position of blocks 60 along slots 54. |
