摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a sublimation type thermal transfer recording medium which is excellent in multi-printing characteristic by a method wherein a dye donative layer containing a sublimation type dye and a dye transfer layer containing the sublimation type of the same color as the dye donative layer are provided on a base material, and besides a content of the dye in each layer is specified. CONSTITUTION:A dye supply layer wherein a sublimation type dye selected from each color of yellow, magenta, cyan, is dispersed in a resin binding agent is provided on a base material. A dye transfer contribution layer wherein the dye of the same color as the above-mentioned dye is dispersed in the resin binding agent is laminated thereon to form an ink layer, and a thermal transfer recording medium is obtained. In that case, a total of the dye contained in the dye supply layer and the dye transfer contribution layer is made Mg/m<2>, and a relative speed of the recording medium to image receiving paper is made 1/n times (n>1). A clear recording image is enabled to be obtained thereby. Then, a value of M.L [a length in a feed direction of a medium necessary for forming one image plane (m)]/R[a length in a feed direction of a photographic image of acceptive paper (m)] is made 0.2-0.5g/m<2> for a yellow color part, and 0.2-0.8g/m<2> for a magenta color part.
