<p>PURPOSE:To sharply decrease dioxin concentrations by introducing waste gas from a combustion furnace into a spray cooling tower, cooling the waste gas to a specified temperature or less using the latent heat of water before removing harmful material contg. dust in the waste gas in a dust collector bag chamber. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas flowing in the inlet of a spray cooling tower 20 from a combustion furnace 10 is within the range of temperature at which dioxin is produced. When the waste gas passes through the spray cooling tower 20, water is jetted in the form of droplets or mist from a water jet nozzle 22 to bring it into direct contact with the waste gas. The quantity of the sprayed water and the wind velocity of the waste gas are set so that the waste gas temperature may become 125 deg.C or less at the outlet of the spray cooling tower 20. When the temperature of the waste gas is lowered, organic components vaporized in the waste gas becomes droplets and strikes on an organic agent to make the size of its molecules large. The dioxin comes into collision with the organic agent of relatively large molecules and is integrated to form larger molecules. Particulate dust suspended in the waste gas is removed by a bag filter 32 in a dust collector bag chamber 30.</p> |
