TREATMENT OF RESIDUAL PIG

PURPOSE:To easily remove residual pig from a trough used for a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:Plural grooves 27 are worked on the residual pig 4 by arc air gouging using carbon electrodes 6. Revolving rollers 8 formed to a wedge shape on a front end side are pressed into these grooves and the grooves 27 are flared by these revolving rollers 8, by which the residual pig 4 is slit and peeled from the trough. Further, deteriorated fire bricks 3 are removed by using a rotary drum.
