PURPOSE:To provide the cosmetic containing ingredients contained in Santalum album L. except its essential oil and giving an excellent whitening effect. CONSTITUTION:The whitening cosmetic contains the water extract of Santalum album L. and, if necessary, further at least one selected from a group consisting of kojic acid, ascorbic acid, hydroquinone, liquiritin, and their derivatives. An extract produced by extracting the whole body of the Santalum album L. including its stem, roots and leave at the ordinary temperature can preferably be used as the water extract of the Santalum album L. as the active ingredient. |
