REMOVING METHOD OF NITROGEN OXIDE

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove NOx from the exhaust gas containing steam without reducing the activity of catalyst in use. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas is allowed to contact with the >=1 kinds catalyst selected among proton type zeolite, alumina and alumina carrying group IV transition metal in the presence of at least one selected between methanol and ethanol under the oxidative atmosphere containing excess oxygen and steam at 200-550 deg.C. The catalyst accelerates preferentially the reaction between NOx and methanol or ethanol than the reaction between oxygen and methanol or ethanol under the steam-contained oxidative atmosphere, and NOx contained in the exhaust gas is removed efficiently.
