PURPOSE: To securely remove a pressure of a space between a primary seal and a secondary seal so that a rod of an actuator can be operated manually. CONSTITUTION: This seal structure has a seal assembly 20 used for sealing a shaft hole 24 and a reciprocating rod 26. The seal assembly 20 is provided within a gland 28 recessed in the shaft hole and has a seal ring 32, non-seal back-up rings 36, 38, and an energizer 34 to seal in one direction only. The energizer has a passage in the direction of axial line and a passage in the radial direction to realize one direction sealing, and the back-up ring 36 does not seal in any direction. In one embodiment, the back-up ring 38 on the downstream side is omitted. |
