发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF HYDROGEN STORAGE ELECTRODE
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a hydrogen storage electrode, having a long cycle life and improved discharge capacity when used as the negative electrode of an alkaline battery, without causing a complex manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen storage electrode is manufactured by making the grain diameter of hydrogen storage alloy powder have less 50mum and by pressurizing copper plating alloy powder, to which copper plating having 10-20wt.% of the whole weight is applied, until a porosity of 10-25% is obtained. Consequently manufacture is made by a manufacturing process simpler than that of a sintered hydrogen storage alloy electrode or a non-sintered hydrogen storage electrode using a fluororesin binder. Also discharge capacity and a cycle life more excellent than the same of the non-sintered hydrogen storage electrode, in which the fluororesin binder or much copper powder conductive aids are used. This is estimated that copper, plated on a hydrogen storage alloy powder surface, is rich in ductility, and consequently is sufficiently stuck close by subsequent pressurization, increasing bonding force between hydrogen storage alloy powders and between the hydrogen storage powder and a collector.
