PURPOSE:To use a synchronous optical multiplexer widely by varying the read frame phase of a buffer memory part on the transmission side of a high speed signal interface part a and the read frame phase of pointer processing part on reception side. CONSTITUTION:This synchronous optical multiplexer is provided with a transmission part 100 for multiplexing from STM-m low-speed signals to STM-n (n=NXm) high-speed signals, a reception part 200 separating N STM-m low- speed signals from STM-n high-speed signals and a clock distributing part 2 generating an intra-device clock and a frame pulse from the reference clock of the system and distributing them into the device and the transmission part 100 includes a buffer memory part 101, a first variable delay part 105, a multiplexing part 102, an overhead inserting part 103 and an optical transmission part 104 and the reception part 200 includes an optical reception part 210, a synchronous part 220, an overhead terminating part 230, a separating part 240, a pointer processing part 250 and a second variable delay part 260. |
