<p>PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic developer excellent in thin line reproducibility and resolution and exerting an excellent recognition rate especially when used in a magnetic ink symbol discriminating system and to furnish a magnetic symbol recognition method. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic developer has a magnetic toner contg. at least a binder resin, a magnetic substance and a hydrocarbonic wax. The onset temp. of the toner in an endothermic peak when heated is at <=105 deg.C in the DSC curve measured by a differential scanning colorimeter, and the endothermic peak is at 100-120 deg.C. The exothermic peak when cooled is at 62-75 deg.C, and the exothermic peak strength ratio is at >=5X10<-3>. The residual magnetization of the magnetic substance is controlled to 12-30emu/g in the magnetic field of 10,000 oersted and the coercive force to 130-300 oersted. A magnetic ink symbol is recognized by using this magnetic developer.</p> |
