PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption of a micro processor and to improve the function of the micro processor. CONSTITUTION: A data processor has plural auxiliary circuits 36 and a circuit 84 for generating clock signals to the circuits. The detection circuit detects the assertion of a control signal and an operation disabling circuit operation- disables the clock signal to more than one auxiliary circuits 36 in response to the control signal. A circuit for selectively detecting more than one auxiliary circuits from attached input/output pins is provided so that the pins accompanying strengthened features are detached and compatibility with a desired microprocessor architecture can be given.
