PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of silica to the discharge wire of an electrostatic charger by impregnating cleaning means with a release agent specified in the amt. of the gaseous low-polymer siloxane to be generated. CONSTITUTION:This image forming device has an image forming section 10 which includes a discharge type electrostatic charger 12, exposing means 13, developing means 14 and transferring device 15 disposed on the periphery of a drum-shaped image carrying member 11 along the rotating direction thereof and a heat fixing section 10 which includes a fixing roller 21, the cleaning means 25 mounted sliding contactably with this fixing roller 21 and impregnated with the release agent and a press roller 22. The silicone oil composed in such a manner that the amt. of the gaseous low-polymer siloxane to be generated attains <=1000ppm when the fixing roller 21 is operated at a prescribed temp. (180 to 200 deg.C) is used for the release agent with which the cleaning means 25 of the device is impregnated. |
