PURPOSE:To improve the portability and the operability by stopping and controlling the power supply to a modulating circuit in the scan mode to reduce the power consumption in the scan mode. CONSTITUTION:A light source 4, a modulating circuit 40 which drives the light source 4, illuminating optical systems 14, 16, 18, and 20, an exit direction correcting means, position detecting means 8, 22, and 28, and a control circuit 32 are provided. The control circuit 32 drives the exit direction correcting mechanism to successively displace the exit direction of a transmission light beam L1 within a prescribed exit direction correction range in the scan mode and irradiates a transmission object 2 with the transmission light beam L1 based on detection results of position detecting means 8, 22, and 28 and switches the scan mode to the tracking mode and irradiates the transmission object 2 with the transmission light beam L1 based on detection results of position detecting means 8, 22, and 28 in the tracking mode and stops and controls the power supply to the modulating circuit 40 in the scan mode. |
