PURPOSE:To improve an operation convenience as a multi-function terminal in which the respective functions can be individually operated by letting the functions of the receiving part and transmitting part of a portable information terminal be physically separable as individual units. CONSTITUTION:A receiving part 1 having a receiving function such as a light transmitting and receiving part 12 or a signal demodulating part 16 is separable from a transmitting part 2 having a transmitting function such as a light transmitting and receiving part 21 or a signal modulating part 27. At the time of using this device as a telephone set, both the receiving part 1 and the transmitting pat 2 are integrated, and respectively functioned as a receiver and a transmitter. And also, with the receiving part 1 as a single body it is utilized as a voice pager, or data can be transmitted by means of a radio wave transmitting function by connecting an IC memory card with the single body of the transmitting part 2. Thus, a power consumption can be reduced, and a battery can be made compact by using the receiving part and the transmitting part as a single body, and the convenience can be improved by utilizing the device as the multi-function terminal. |
