PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of an optical system and to obtain a small magnetooptical head device with high assembling workability. CONSTITUTION:Laser light transmitted from a laser light source 1 is linearly polarized, transmitted through a beam splitter 2, converged by an objective lens 3 and forms a small spot on a recording medium 4. Information signal light reflected by the recording medium 4 transmits through the objective lens 3, is reflected and separated from the incident light by the beam splitter 2 and detected by a hologram photodetector 6. Consequently, by using a hologram optical element having the function of separating a magnetooptical information signal from a servo error signal while rotating the polarization plane of information signal light by about 45 degrees, the hologram optical element and the photodetector are simultaneously moved. |
