PURPOSE:To prevent the write miss of an initial value by connecting a vehicle running data storage means and an external input/output means to an external input/output means and providing a display means for displaying the initial value of the vehicle running data storage means. CONSTITUTION:This recorder for a vehicle is constituted of a vehicle running data storage means, that is, an on-vehicle device 1 provided on the reverse side of a meter panel, an external input/output device for which a driver has with him and is connected selectively to the on-vehile device 1 through a communication line 7, that an electronic notebook 10 and an analyzing means installed in an office, that is, a personal computer and a card reader. The controller 11 of the electronic notebook 10 initializes a display 13, displays the instruction of connection to the on-vehicle device 1 and decides whether the connection is finished or not. When it is finished, a processing condition data request command is transmitted and processing condition data are received from the on- vehicle device 1. In such a state, the processing condition data, that is, initial value data are displayed on the display 13 and when the display is finished, control is finished. |
